Hi,I am Dr. Santosh Kondekar (Pediatrician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
my four year old has a cough about three days now. I took her to urgent care this morning. I had to be sure cause she also has asthma. they told me that it is not her asthma. just give her honey for cough. and continue to give her inhaler. what do you think.
In children viral infections are very common. They are often associated with wheezing and it does not necessarily mean asthma. Inhalers are likely to be helpful in such a situation. Honey is good and can be given. Also give the child steam inhalation. Water in the form of vapour would reach deep into the lungs and help in diluting the cough and give the child relief.
