Suggest Medication For Diarrhea, lower Stomach Pain And Nausea

Hi, My boyfriend is having lower stomach pain, diarrhea, and feels nauseous. He went to the clinic on base and they did a X-ray and it just showed him to be constipated. So the doctor gave him a laxative, but it isn t helping. Any idea if it could be something else???

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of diarrhea, lower stomach pain and nausea which seems to be due to acute gastroenteritis which is a type of viral infection which leads to electrolyte imbalance in body. Need not to worry. I would suggest you take proper rest. You should take plenty of fluids to rehydrate. Take antiemetic medication as well. Avoid taking cold carbonated beverages and hot and spicy food.
You should do tepid sponging as well. Visit general physician once and get it examined. You should get blood tests done to find out underlying cause of fever whether bacterial or viral and start treatment accordingly. You can take paracetamol along with antacids/ proton pump inhibitors.

Hope your concern has been resolved.

Best Wishes,
