Suggest Medication For Enlarged Prostate With Burning Urination

I had some burning in the urine - hard to empty bladder (enlarged prostate which I have had before)Have had chills and uncontrollable shiver last evening and just starting again now. Also have a headache, and feeling of build up of bacteria - because I can t flush the kidney/bladder.I had a supply of Cephelexin which I started to take but I had this condition once 10 years ago and a special antibiotic which targetted the Prostate gland was used - Within a day I was fine and could urinate OK!! But I can t remember the antibiotic used - prescribed by a renal specialist who is no longer available.Any help??

I have gone through your question. I can understand your concern.
You have benign prostatic hyperplasia. Urinary tract infection is common in BPH. You should go for urine routine examination and if needed go for culture and sensitivity test. Then you should take antibiotics accordingly. Levofloxacin and norfloxacin is commonly used. It is prescription based medicine so consult your doctor and take treatment accordingly.
