Suggest Medication For Entamoeba Histolytica Cyst In Stools
cyst EH(ENTAMOEBAHISTOLYTICA) . i aws treated with albendazle 1 tab repeated after an week . even then my stool reports shown EH. Then i was given AMICILINE PLUS 3 TIMES FOR 5 DAYS. NO RESULTS. THIS TIME DOC GAVE ME METROGYL 400 mg . shall i take this or anything else plssugget me raja ram
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted the history and understood your concerns. Metronidazole is the mainstay of treatment of Entamoeba histolytica, hence you will have to complete the course and thence only repeat the stool tests to see if the problem persists or not. IF the stool is normal after 7 days of treatment and if your symptoms are vanished, there is no need for any further treatment. If the problem or the stool tests show show persistence then you can certainly go for further management with Tinidazole and other medicines as would be advised by your Physician. Also needed is the preventive treatment, you have to wash hands every time you visit bathroom, clean all the vegetables and fruits with running water before being used to wash off the cysts and eggs of E histolytica. Avoid eating at open joints and always see that the others in the family are not being suffered or being treated if found to be infected.
