I read your story and the EEG query carefully.

The EEG report supports the diagnose of epilepsy suggested by that episode. That is no cause for panic as there are many drugs at disposal of modern medicine to prevent further seizures from happening. There are patients who are free of seizures under treatment and since he is only 11 there is the chance that growing up he might be free of seizures.

Regarding you scolding your son though, you should not worry about that, it has not been at the origin of the seizure, rest assured. The causes for seizures could be many, brain imaging with MRI is advised, often, especially in children, no specific cause is identified.

I hope to have been of help.
