Suggest Medication For Neck Pain Due To A Injury

Hi I am a make 37 years of age and very active I lift weights about five times a week and I also go to jujitsu. I recently was in jujitsu class and I was wrestling with a teammate he grabbed my neck and I heard a pop and ever since then I have been in lots of pain on my left side of neck and stiff in the trap muscles. Iwaited a few days and the pain didn t reside. I went to see a physician he prescribed me Nabumetone and Flexeril(10MG). After 2 weeks I still was hurting and pain didn t reside. I saw the physician again he gave me a steroid shot, I forget what it was and also prescribed me prednisone. My X-rays came back normal. I recently finished all of that with no signs of my neck getting better. I also did a few acupuncture sessions again with no help for my neck. It has been a month now and worried what it could be. Does anyone know what it could be? My next step is going to be MRI. Thanks.

Hi
Welcome to healhcaremagic
After going through your query I concluded that you are having soft tissue injury your neck. Treatment of it is rest and analgesic such as ibuprofen/diclofenac. If pain is more you can take tramadol. You have excluded fracture by x ray. You can get MRI for its detailed investigation as it is not reducing. You can discuss with your Doctor about it. Hope your query get answered. If you have any clarification then please don't hesitate to write to us. I will be happy to answer your queries.
Wishing you a good health. Take care.
