Suggest Medication For Pain In Back Inside Of Right Knee

Hello,I am a 53 year old woman and have been experiencing pain in the back and inside of my right knee for about 2 weeks now. I tore my meniscus (MRI proven) about 10 years ago in a slip and fall accident in a grocery store, but the tear was minor and I did not have surgery. Have not had any problems with it as a result, just occasional slight pain. I am very active; I exercise every day alternating with various activities such as spinning, step aerobics with squats, elliptical runner and power walking. When I squat down, I feel pain and a tightness underneath my right knee and now it has extended to the inside of the knee. I feel it is probably related to the previous meniscal tear and after years of constant exercise it is wearing out??? What are your thoughts on this?

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hi, Welcome to healthcare magic. After going through your query I think You are suffering from osteoarthritis of both knee joint as pain is back of knee and inside of knee. Definitely it is related to previous meniscus tear and surgery as meniscus injury and surgery lead to early osteoarthritis. You need further investigation by x ray of both knee joints in standing position. Analgesics such as ibuprofen is helpful in pain relief. Diacerinre and glucosamine sulfate protect cartilage from breakdown and help in cartilage regeneration. Quadriceps exercises are of help. You can discuss with your treating doctor. I think your query answered. Welcome to any follow up query.
