Suggest Medication For Post Nasal Drip And Dry Cough

I think I might have post nasal drip, which is causing an extremely strange and nagging cough. My cough is mostly forced by me because I am feeling like there is phelgm caught in my chest, but then when I try to cough it up I hear a sound like a horn and it is dry. Sometimes I am just sitting here and the cough happens by itself after I try to take a half way deep breath. What is this?

Hello.

I went through your history and would like to know more details like your age, your nose symptoms, throat symptoms, stomach symptoms if any, etc.

At present, I would like to make suggestions for you as follows:

1. I would suggest you to perform regular gargles with warm saline.

2. Regular steam inhalation would also help if you have nose symptoms like allergies, nose congestion, etc. In that case, I would also add montelukast and levocetirizine to your treatment.

3. I would suggest you to avoid heavy meals and an antacid like pantoprazole for 2 weeks, it may help if your symptoms are due to gastroesophageal reflux disease.

4. Please avoid exposure to dusts, smokes and air pollution till recovery as much as possible.
