i m trying to concieve for last 1 year desparretely & i have no blocks in tubes, i have suggested to take regestrone 5mg for 20 days coz i have regular period but after completion of period i have slight bleeding or spotting everyday so my gyno has given me regestrone for 20 days but i want to know that is it safe for getting pregnant or can i try to concieve along with using this tablet or not i m 30 & weight 66 kgs.
Welcome to HCM If your periods are irregular, it may be due to PCOS. You should have ultrasound examination for confirmation. PCOS prevents you from having regular ovulation and this is likely to be the reason for you not becoming pregnant. Regestrone will help you have regular periods but these periods are without ovulation and is a withdrawal bleeding on stopping the pill. So you will not become pregnant when you are taking Regestrone. Insulin resistance is the main cause for PCOS and you should reduce your weight, eat a wholesome food and exercise and use meformin. You may also require fertility medicines. I shall be happy to answer if you have more queries. Wish you good health and a successful pregnancy
