Suggest Medication For Type 2 Diabetes

Hello, my father is 88 he has diabeties type 2, and in a recent blood test was found to be anemic. Since starting his iron supplement he has very different blood sugar readings and requires less insulin in the morning. Also he has to be careful not to give himself too many units at night because his blood sugar is now dropping more over night than usual. Is this a known affect of the iron supplement?

Hello,
Sugar dropping is not because of taking iron supplement.
If a person has suddenly started requiring less insulin, then it could mean a diabetic nephropathy.
Get the kidney function tests done along with urine analysis to look for passing of proteins in it.
passing proteins in urine is an indication of development of diabetic nephropathy.
consult your doctor and get the required investigations done.
Thanks
