Suggest Medication To Cure Sore Throat
Yes my friend has had a consistent sore throat for about two weeks. He went to the doctor and they took a culture he does not have strep throat and it doesn t sound like he is sure if it is a virus or bacterial. After a week of feeling in pain he went to the doctor and the doctor said it was not strep throat and to just wait. He wants to go to Mexico and buy a medicine That he normally gets in Italy where he s from. The name of this drug in Italy is called Z I MOX. I m worried that he will go to Mexico and buy something that will not heal his issue and may even do him more harm. Please advise, thank you

His throat swab culture is negative for streptococcus and bacteria as well according to history.
So it is a viral infection of pharynx.
For that, there is no need to take ampicillin antibiotic from Mexico as mentioned in the question.
He should be given less spicy foods for a few days and more water.
Advise him to take vitamin C lozenges.
He can do dilute betardine gargle with warm water three times a day to sooth posterior pharynx.
