Suggest Medication To Get Rid Of Mucus In Throat

I have a scratchy throat and a bit of a cough. I can tell I have a lot of mucus in my throat. I take high blood pressure meds. What over the counter meds can I take to get rid of all the mucus? I have tried Coricidin Cough and cold, but it doesn t seem to help at all.

Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I understand your concern.
What problem you are facing is nothing serious but a upper respiratory tract inflammation. Your condition can be treated in the following way:
1. Decongestant syrup containing Ambroxyl and Chlorpheniramine maleate.
2. Salt water gargling with warm water.
3. Consumption of medicated lozanges.
4. Steam inhalation twice a day would help to liquefy the mucous and help clear congestion in the sinus.
Your symptoms should get better in about 3 to 5 days.
Hope the information provided would be helpful.
All the best.
