Suggest Medicine For Diarrhea, Bloating And Lower Left Abdominal Pain
I have had constant Diarrhea, gas and bloating for 2 months. Floating, greasy type small stools all day. I stopped eating sugar, coffee, gluten and dairy. Dr tested me for everything including parasites. All blood, urine and stool tests were normal or negative. Terrible fatigue. Dr started me on flagyl to see if it works before more intensive stool tests. no blood in stool or cramping. Dull slight pain in lower left side occasionally. I am also on probiotics. Very perplexed. No weight loss even though i tend to run to a bathroom after I eat. Plenty of fluid intake during the day. Any suggestions?
You may want to consider food allergy testing as well as blood tests to check the level of thyroid hormone (high levels can cause diarrhea).
A colonoscopy to take a look at the colon should also be considered because inflammation or structural changes to the colon can also cause these symptoms eg inflammatory bowel disease.
An assessment by a gastroenterologist would be helpful to determine the exact cause.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Dr. Michelle Gibson James,
