What Causes Constipation Along With Lower Left Abdominal Pain?

I have a history of diverticulitis. For the last 24 hours, I have been constipated with a stabbing pain in my lower left abdomen. Before that, I had 3 days of diarrhea with 100 degree temp. I have been to my doctor who says I should see a gastroenterologist, but I need a referral that she did not give me. What can I do in the meantime?

Dear; diverticulitis is a complication of diverticulosis which is a pouch formación from intesthine. In order to avoid inflammation, you need to avoid food with small seeds and have a low fat high fiber diet. If you are experimenting pain , you need to have a bland diet and may need antibiotics if no improvement .
