Hello, I am a young and sexually active male who is concerned about HIV infection. I had non-penetrative sex with an unknown male. I gave him a handjob and he released all over my hand. I proceeded to masturbate myself and washed my hand with water after a few minutes but did not clean my penis until after reaching home. Now, here are the reasons I m concerned: Firstly, there is a scabbed scrape now on my hand that I cannot recall if it was present during that time, but I can recall what type of scrape it was; red and blood was visible but it was dry and not bleeding. Secondly, my penis had a little red dot as a result of friction burn from previous time. I am honestly quite frightened by the prospect of having HIV or other sexually transmitted infections. Please help me. Regards, A scared young man
Masturbation is the safest way of sex practice to avoid STD/HIV. As per CDC, Atlanta, all types of contact with semen and blood other than the penetrative vaginal and anal sex carry either a low risk as with oral sex and negligible risk with others. So the contact of semen with bare hands and the outer aspect of penis carries a negligible risk for HIV/STD. Anyhow it is better to have a Rapid test for HIV 12 weeks after this contact and seeing a negative result will relieve the unnecessary mental tension. DR S.Murugan
