My son lost a testicle when he was 2 months old due to a hernia. He is now 15 and getting more self conscious about it, especially when in the football locker room. I have heard it is best to contact a urologist about this, but when I did, they referred me to a plastic surgeon. First I'm wondering if my son is a good candidate, due to his age and second, whom should I contact. Thank you.
Hi. This is one thing that a Father would really be bothered about it. Since your son is 15 , it may be wise for you to tell him the facts , straightway and let him form an opinion , whether he needs this artificial thing or will be OK without it. IF his another testicle is normal I would go against any manipulation near the normal one.
