Hi.
Noted your history of getting nasty cold in Feb, settled with mild coughing and mucus, but got the problems again with fever, again got settled but now itchy throat and some mucus that gets worse at night, can not even talk.
The chronology of events and persisting of mucus in throat indicate one of the following:
This is upper
respiratory tract infection the
sinusitis being a part of it that continues to trouble and appear as post-nasal drip so the mucus in throat.
The daily activities throughout the day with exposure to many allergens increase the problems to trouble you the most at night.
Hence I would advise you the following in such a situation:
Consult an ENT Surgeon for clinical evaluation.
Investigations of blood, throat swab and
CT scan of nose and
sinuses.
These will add to the cause and effect.
Once a proper diagnosis has been done a proper course of antibiotics, anti-inflammatory and decongestants can help you the best.
Additional oral and nasal
steroids can help for early recovery and complete cure as seen in many cases.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. T. Chandrakant, ENT & General Surgeon
