Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My son was beaten and kicked in the head and brought home by the police--he wanted to go to bed and it's 2 in the morning so we're tired. Should I check him every couple of hours and ask him how he thinks he's doing--maybe we can follow up at the doctor in the morning when we've both had some rest?
Yes, most certainly. Head injuries are not to be taken lightly. Some individuals do not present with symptoms immediately and need to be watched. But as your son will be sleeping, you might not really get to observe most symptoms. Please see if you can keep him awake for a while, and only then put him to sleep.
Hello dear, welcome to health care magic forum. If he had history of loss of consciousness, drowsiness, vomiting ,severe head ache etc,you should go to er now itself. Otherwise, you can watch for these symptoms till morning by waking him up every 1-2 hours. Hope this answer will help. Wishing for everything to be fine. Thank you

Suggest Remedies For Injury To The Head
Hello and welcome. Yes, most certainly. Head injuries are not to be taken lightly. Some individuals do not present with symptoms immediately and need to be watched. But as your son will be sleeping, you might not really get to observe most symptoms. Please see if you can keep him awake for a while, and only then put him to sleep. Look for blurring of vision, headaches, nystagmus, loss of consciousness, bleeding from the nose or ear or both, etc. These are all symptoms that warrant an MRI or CT imaging of the brain to look for internal bleeding. Hope this helps. Best wishes.
