Suggest Remedies For Pain In The Heel Post Injury

I took three steps and suddenly something popped behind my heel. I hobbled the rest of the night but could still function albeit with pain. Down stairs walking is sideways. Painful bump on back of leg just above heel. A wrap seems to help somewhat. What happened?

Hello,

As the peel is paining it could be a ligament instability which happened due to sudden movement.

It happens to some and nothing serious to worry about. Firstly try doing hot water fermentation, stabilize the ankle in brace or crepe bandage, do ankle toe movements.

After 2-3 weeks of time, you can try balance board training which can help correct the muscle imbalances and improve the stability of the ankle joint avoiding excessive pressure applied over the heel.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
