Hi,I am Dr. Santosh Kondekar (Pediatrician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My 4.5 year old son is having fever, we got his test done but reports were normal, his platelet count was also 220K/ mg, however he is getting sick every week. gets high fever. I have given him antibiotic last week itself and he was normal for 10 days but this time gaian he has got fever and running nose. What should I do please suggest. His weight is 22 kg.
Hi, Your child is 4.5 year old and is getting recurrent episodes of fever, cold and cough, this could be due to low immunity in child or allergic rhinitis. In allergic rhinitis, child gets repeated episodes of cough and cold when exposed to allergens like dust, pollens. In low immunity, child gets recurrent infections of chest and abdomen mainly. In my opinion, you should do Igm and absolute eosinophil count in child. This will help in confirmation of diagnosis. Further treatment will depend on above reports. Wishing your child good health. Take care. Regards: Dr Deepak Patel, MD Pediatrics
