Suggest Remedies For Recurrent Heart Burn And Tenderness Below My Ribs

Hi, I am concerned but I am going to a GI on Thursday. I have on and off heart burn and tenderness right below the center of my ribs, also the pain seems to go around to the center of my back. I have had this for several yrs but seems to be bothering me more and more. Prilosec didn t help, but It seems like 1000 mgs of Tums helps. I often burp up acid too and I get very gassy when I wear jeans, where the top of my pants puts pressure on my belly button, it s very bothersome.

I read your query carefully.
According to details it seems to be a gastric issue which is related with indigestion.
I would advise you following:-
1- Do not drink too much water with meals.
2- Drink at least 8-10 glasses of water per day.
3- Do not eat too much at a time, take regular small meals.
4- Avoid spicy, fried, and fast food.
5- Quit smoking and do not take caffiene,alcohol or chocolates.
6- Take your dinner atleast 2 hours before bed time.
7- Keep your head end elevated atleast 6 inches than foot end,while sleeping.
8- Take antacid after every meal.
9- Take Omeprazole or esomeprazole 40mg 1 hour before meal once a day for 1 week.
10- Go for walk regularly.
11- Take healthy balanced diet.
