Suggest Remedies For Stool Holding In A Child

I have a 9 year old daughter who has been holding her poop since she has been about 1 years old. She is still doing this, I don t know how to help her. She says she doesn t know how to go to the bathroom the right way. Should I take her to see a pychiatrist?

First, we have to rule out chronic constipation that can cause voluntary bowel holding from fear of pain on defecation. Kindly consult a pediatrician first. After evaluation, either he will suggest remedy or refer to proper speciality
