Suggest Remedies For Swelling And Scabbing Of Skin Due To Mosquito Bite
My 2 year old son was bit by a mosquito on his left forearm yesterday. It got him good with at least 3 sticks in the same area. Don t know exactly how long it was on there but when I grabbed it there was a lot of blood. today is the second day and the area is swollen (not extreme),the site is hard all around, warm to the touch and the area where the sticks where looks to be scabbing. Should I bring my son to the DR. or emergency room ASAP? or wait it out a little longer.
I have gone through your query and can understand your concern..
As per your complain the symptoms of swelling and hard area around the mosquito bite seems to be due to the toxic substance released by the mosquito sting under the skin of your son.. As you have removed the stinger you need not to worry as the healing will occur soon.. I would suggest you to give him anti-allergics like Benadryl.. Anti-inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen can be given.. You can do cool compresses over the area.. You can apply Calamine lotion.. In case if there is no resolution in a week consult an Allergist and get him evalyated and he can do a clinical evaluation and treat according to the cause..
Hope this information helps..
