Suggest Remedies For Swollen And Red Tonsils In Throat
I wake up in the middle of the night due to my throat hurting randomly. I won't be feeling sick or anything when I go to look one of my tonsils are very swollen and red. usually it's followed by pus balls later that week but when next week rolls around I usually cough them up. this happens alot and im so tired of it, any idea what it is?
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain red swollen tonsils with formation of pus balls that you are able to cough up seems to be due to Tonsil stones.. They are formed due to calcification of food particles and dirt that gets accumulated over the tonsils and are a potent cause for recurring inflammation of tonsils and bad breath.... I would suggest you to consult an Otolaryngologist and get evaluated and he can confirm by doing a clinical evaluation.. In case of tonsillolith the physician can remove it manually.. You can be advised to gargle with 1;1 solution of hydrogen peroxide and water.. Do warm saline gargles.. Limit intake of dairy as it is high in calcium and can accelerate the stone formation.. You should also always gargle after meals.. If still there is no improvement then Tonsillectomy or surgical removal of tonsils is the only option left..
Hope this helps..
Regards.
