Suggest Remedies For Swollen Left Leg Post An Injury

I bumped my leg Last Thursday July 7th 2016 and realized that it was cut by a protruding Thick Nail, that was Coated with Drug Paint. I cleaned it within 5 minutes with a medicated packaged guaze, then when I got home I cleaned it again with Peroxied, and Put a slight coat of Neosporin on Broken Skin, along with Daily Cleaning and Neosporin application. As of Sunday it has swollen ALL around the cut area Which Now seems to be healing, I applied Ice Pack over night for 2 - Night, Swelling went Down somewhat BUT Still Slightly Swollen, and Red Througout the Area like 3 Centimeters from Area ALL around, and Purplish on some of the Edges. What Should I Do?

Hello,

As there is history of injury, possibilities of cellulitis with or without hematoma is likely.

Need specific attention to prevent secondary bacterial infection and best resolution at earliest.
- local care with Glycerine magnesium sulfate application for edema
- foot elevation
- avoid tight compression or clothes
- prescription of antibiotics and anti inflammatory medications as Serratiopeptidases or else from your doc
- control of blood sugar
