Hi, i am having Vitiligo for the last 7 years. i have undergone Melanin Transplant twice. But, the surgery was not that successful. Later on i was put on NBUV with Azoran tablets daily once. Now again i am finding few new patches coming along with the old once which are increasing in size. Now i have started with Laser UV therapy, Flutivate Ointment along with a weekly dose of Kenacort Injections on the Patches. Please advice me if can i do anything else on this , so that i can get ready of it soon, or if these Medicines and procedures are enough or, if these have got any side effects as weell, and wat i can do to minimise these side effects. Please suggest me.
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
The treatment you are following is more than enough. If at all you want to add something, do take some Antioxidant capsules. In vitiligo, treatment response is slow. So, please be patient. Flutivate cream, if applied only on white spot, does not have major side effects. If you want to minimize side effects, try to apply the cream only on the affected skin, Make sure that it does not extends in to normal skin. If your skin gets damaged, do consult your dermatologist immediately.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
