Suggest Remedy For Aggression And Mood Swings When On Sodium Valproate

My son had seizure at the age of 8 months, then onwards he was fine till the age of 3.5 years of age. At 3.5 yr age, he had absence seizure, then onwards he was taking sodium valproate (200mg) per day. From last one week, my son becomes aggressive oftenly, cries sometimes. Having mood swings also. Need opinion from neurophysician pls.

You'll want drug levels. You'll also want an outside observer. Without an exam, I can only give general information. cannot say in your particular case, but generally, these traits MIGHT be normal for age. Alternatively, sodium valproate is a damper down of brain activity and this can have paradoxical effects just like a small amt of alcohol.
