Suggest Remedy For Back Pain Due To Lifting Heavy Load

Hello, few weeks ago, I lifted a conveyor bread toaster and as I was transferring it to the cupboard, I heard a pop at my lower back (somewhere along my backbone), it's painful every time I bend backwards, even when I reach for something. I feel the spot where it hurts when I lie on my stomach and do the yoga position "cobra". Can I put hot or cold compress or any ointment to relieve pain? Or is it best for me to see a doctor? Thank you.

You have probably suffered from slipped disc which requires immediate medical attention. Although hot compress alternating with cold compress would give you some transient relief, please visit an orthopedician immediately. Please do not try any yoga or exercise as of now.
