Suggest Remedy For Bloating And Discomfort In Stomach

Dear Doctor,
I am a 16 yeat old boy who was recently diagnosed with mono last wednesday. I have been feeling great and symtom free since sunday but i know that doesnt mean i am better yet. I am right now for the past two days expierencing a feeling of discomfort in my stomach area almost like their is a giant air bubble or something or i am really bloated. Is this a symptom of the mono? Because i know one of the side effects is swollen spleen

Hello, my name is Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi.I understand your concern. Some advices that I can give to you are:
-Avoid chewing gum.
-Limit your intake of carbonated drinks.
-Avoid foods that cause gas, such vegetables in the cabbage family, dried beans, and lentils.
-Eat slowly and avoid drinking through a straw.
-Use lactose-free dairy products
-Use over the counter medication like simethicone.
