Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello--2 weeks ago I suddenly felt like I was walking on a pebble after I removed my shoes at home. By yesterday I could see the bump on the bottom of my foot almost in the middle of the ball. A friend at the market today told me it s a bone spur; he recognized the symptoms as he just had surgery for the same thing. I have no insurance right now and was planning to return to work very soon--don t know what to do.
As per your symptoms i will advice you to first undergo a thorough clinical examination and an x-ray before jumping to any conclusion.
Post the clinical examination and an x-ray the treatment plan will be initiated.
Also physical therapy will provide you much relief with therapeutic ultrasound therapy and TENS therapy. Performing simple exercises of the foot muscles will help to strengthen the muscles.
If it is a bone spur, treatment plan will be same with addition of silicon gel pads for the heel in shoes.
In my clinical practice most patients respond well to physical therapy.
