Suggest Remedy For Chest Tightness And Pain In An Elderly Person

my grandmother is 92, alert/oriented x3, frail, has heart disease, we were in ER this past sunday she was a little dehydrated, everything else normal, she is a DNR does not want to go to hospital, if she starts her dying process she will stay home, I live with her; right now she is having chest tightness, not pain, BP is 170/60 pulse is 70, should we try a nitro pill? or is her paremeters too low?

Hello,Welcome to the HCM
Brief answer..She your grand mother needs ECG first.
Detailed answer...Since parameters of B.P and heart rate do not determine the cause of tightness in chest.There can be many reasons,most common at this age could be acidity,minor heart attack.Other cause can be emboli if she is bed ridden.
My opinion would be first get ECG done ,if there is change in heart rate ,you may discuss with doctor,she may need other investigation like ECHO and then can give her medicines according to doctor's advice .Nitro pill is given to dilate the vessels of heart if there is any minor block ,but first we should confirm the cause .
