Suggest Remedy For Chesty Cold

I have a very bad chest cold that I am afraid is turning into pneumonia. I have been so sick that I can t lay down to sleep and I am when I do wake, I am coughing up a lot of mucus, heavy gray mucus. I have been using vaporizers, drank a lot of tea with lemon juice but this has been going on for 6 days and I am not getting any better.

HI
Well come to HCM
I really appreciate your concern, if the cough is due to cold then this nothing worry and some time it may not need any treatment, if pneumonia being suspected then it needs clinical examination and x-ray of chest, drink more water, have steam inhalation, at the most it could be secondary bacterial infection and on tentative basis, antibiotic can be taken and "Azithromycin" 500 mg once in day is the drug of choice, hope this information helps, take care and have a nice day.
