Suggest Remedy For Chronic Neck Pain And Lump On Sternum

I have been on thyroxin for 28 years. I now have a goiter on left side and a lump on right sternum. Goiter was ultrasounded and they said to watch it for a year. My neck is sore mostly at work I am a secretary. Left side of throat where lump is feels swollen or like something stuck there when I swallow. Blood tests are fine. Dr. says reflux and go to massage therapy for chronic neck pain. Is there something else I should be asking to be looked at?

Hi,

Since ultrasound is done it would also be wiser to:
- Have FNAC of the nodule
- X-ray neck for cervical sponditlitis as you are a secretary
- Apply local rubefacient liniment for muscle relaxation
- Physiotherapy of neck
- Ultrasound for swelling on sternum and FNAC if required to know the cause
- Continue medicines for reflux
- Stop oily and spicy food as your doctor has thought about GERD
- Once a proper diagnosis is done then the treatment can be specific
- Further investigations like upper GI endoscopy and MRI for neck and spine if required
