Suggest Remedy For Congested Chest, Cough With Phlegm And Sore Throat

My husband and I have been having congested chest, heavy head, coughing up a lot of phlegm, sore throat, eyes caked in the am and sleepless nights. We seem to function better during the day but nighttime comes and our throats get so sore we can t swallow.

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns.

As per your complain the symptoms seems to be that of upper respiratory tract infection leading to congestion in chest, heavy head, coughing of phlegm and sore throat..
I would suggest you to consult an Otolaryngologist and get evaluated and he can advise you to throat swab culture to rule out the exact cause of the problem.
He can advise you to take a course of antibiotics like Azithromycin, Augmentin or Levofloxacin for preventing or treating secondary bacterial infection..
Anti-inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen, decongestants like Pseudoephadrine, mucolytics like Ambroxol, anti allergics like Levocetrizine can be advised..
Do warm saline gargles and steam inhalations..
Avoid spicy and chilled foods..
Sip on plenty of warm water and other warm fluids..
Chew Vitamin C pellets and suck throat lozenges..
Take ample of rest..
