Suggest Remedy For Constipation

My 9yrs old daughter suffers from soiling due to constipation for years. She has not used the bathroom in few days, last night she cried because something was poking her bottom .... She pulled a string (look like hay string). Today she was trying to use the restroom and could not and pulled more out. What is causing this? How can I make her feel better?
