Suggest Remedy For Dark Brown Loose Stools For One Year Old?

my one year old has dark brown loose stools that are gritty and hard to get off his bottom. last week have a fever off and on for 5 days. fever is gone now but he is still cranky. should i be worried about his poop being like this? also before this stool it was very dark and hard
