Suggest Remedy For Deep Bruise, Throbbing Pain And Swelling In Shin After A Fall

Fell on my shin playing volleyball before a game and my knee pads were down. An huge bump formed on my leg and the girls on my team said it looked like my knee fell down it was that big. It hurt to the touch. I iced it then played. Felt fine while I was playing but as soon as I got of the court and sat down it hurt. We won our game and I m now at home. I ve iced it and now it s throbbing,hurts to walk on and hurts when I don t do anything. It s a giant swelled lump and it hasn t bruised but it feels like a really deep bruise.

Hi,Welcome to healthcaremagic . After going through your query I came to know that you have got large hematoma( bruise) . It's treatment is icing,rest and analgesic such as diclofenac. You can get x Ray done to rule out fractures.Hematoma resolve in time itself in due course of time. It changes colour in its natural course.If you has no fever, then no need to worry much. Hematoma gradually resolved by itself .Thrombophob gel local application three times a day over it(no rubbing) can help in resolving it. Sometimes haematoma does not resolve by themselves. In these cases aspiration with wide bore needle is done to suck the collected blood under aseptic condition for which you need to visit doctor. You can discuss with your doctor about it.
