Suggest Remedy For Discomfort In Throat After Swallowing The Pill Without Water
I took doxycycline without water and went to bed about 10 minutes later. I woke up now at midnight with the feeling of something stuck in my throat and a hard painful swallow. I ve tried drinking lots of water, eating yogurt and crackers and it doesn t seem to work. is there anyway I can get the pill to dissolve or help it get out of my throat?

General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi,
A capsule cannot remain stuck after the amount of water you drank. It must be some trauma to the food pipe that has occurred due to dry and forceful swallow. You can suck pills of GelusilMPS, drink cold milk only. eat non irritating food and the feeling will go in a day.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
