During a period of having an early evening nap (unusual for me), I became aware of interference in the lower part of the vision of my left eye. I am familiar with the normal transparent thready lines which occasionally appear, looking like the pictures of spirogyra out of a school textbook, but this is more like a grainy cloud of varying density, with the lower part being quite a dark system of threads , the shape of which varies little as I move the eye (it s difficult to describe his in more detail as obviously I cannot focus on it. The grainy substance does tend to move a little, dropping with gravity back into position after blinking. And it s like there could be a boundary to this, but again difficult to tell as it now covers the visual area (the dense threads being still at the bottom. I am 63 and have slight high eye pressure and am having regular checks with good results - apparently no sign of glaucoma yet. Height 5 foot 8, weight 13 stone 6 but I am in the middle of a high-protein diet. Otherwise healthy.
