Suggest Remedy For Foul Smelling Discharge, Severe Pain In Abdomen With Constipation

I had a hysterectomy on Nov. 3 2011. Several days ago i had sex, and right after that i had severe excruciating.. pain in lower abdomen i went to er and had cat scan done which looked like appendicitis . That was ruled out because no fever or increse in wbc. there was bacteria in my urine, and i was sent home with antibiotics. This morning i had foul-smelling discharge, and pain so bad it hurrts to walk. I have also been constipated for over a week, and took 4 laxatives, miralax, and metimucil with no luck. i walk doubled over in pain ,and stay in bed all day. Any advice?

Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Noted the history and understood your concerns.
Your history of pain in lower abdomen after sex is most indicative of Pelvic inflammatory disease.
I would advise you the following in such a situation:
Get an opinion of a Gynecologist, per-vaginal and per-speculum examination helps further and remember that this clinical examination is most important and informative.
Tests of blood, urine and stool.
Ultrasound of the abdomen and pelvis.
CT scan if required.
Proper diagnosis is the basis of proper management.
Get a proper prescription based antibiotic, metronidazole cover and probiotics.
Take plenty of oral fluids to avoid dehydration, but if the pain persists you may need an admission in the hospital for intravenous fluids and antibiotics.
Further management as per the findings.
