Hi,I am Dr. Prabhakar Koregol (Cardiologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi Dr, I had a chest x-rays prescribed by my Pulmonology Dr due to a possible pneumonia and they called me today to tell me that it was not that but they found my heart enlarged, called cardiomelagy mild. What should I expect, do, next step? What exactly is that? I'm a female 41 years old, mom of a 10 month old baby and a 2 yr old girl
The next step is Echocadiography and ECG. Chest X Rays gives us some clues that there may be possible heart enlargement. But we should perform an Echocadiography, which can show whether there is any problem with the heart or not. If there is a need for any treatment depends on the results of Echocadiography.
Take care
