Suggest Remedy For Heavy Bleeding And Clots After The Removal Of IUD

Hi....I am asking this question for my daughter. She is 42 years old this year. She had an iud put in in 2007, and removed in 2011. She has experienced heavy bleeding and clots for 3-4 months each year since removal. The other months the flow is not so heavy. She is exhausted waiting for her body to return to normal. Can you help?

Hi,

Slight bleeding can happen after removal of IUD, but heavy bleeding as in your case is unusual.

The weakness and dizziness may be due to blood loss.

You can take drugs like Tranexamic Acid for symptomatic relief.

If bleeding persists, better to consult a gynecologist and get evaluated. You can try other contraceptives.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
