Hi,I have hypothyroidism for the past four year and i am taking thyronorm 62.5 mg but my weight is constantly increasing.In the last four years it jumped from 62 kg to 75 kg...Can you suggest any better treatment.I am 34 years old,height is 5'2''.

Hello Welcome to HCM Thanks for posting your query in HCM.I understand your concerns.There is no other alternative treatment for hypothyroidism.Hormonal supplementation in the form of synthetic T4 is the drug of choice for this condition.The drug you are taking is correct for your condition.
But as you are complaining of increased weight gain inspite of treatment,the dosage of the drug you are taking may be inappropriate or less.So,you need to check your T3,T4 and TSH levels once.
If TSH levels are high,you need to increase your daily dosage of thyronorm after consulting your trating physician.By this your symptoms will come down.
