Suggest Remedy For Increased Diarrhea With Blood In Stools Due To Flu

I have had diarrhea for a week today. Friday i was in the emergency room with a fever body aches stomach cramps nausea and vomiting. They diagnosed me with the flu. Since then my fever is gone but the rest of my symptoms remain only now my diarrhea has changed i have gone almost twenty times today and it appears to look like potato flakes or saw dust with a horrible odor. There is blood also and when i wipe it is blood and mucous. Should I return to the er?

I have read your query in detail and under stood it properly, I will try to use my expertise to huide yiu through the issues you mentioned.

1ST thing 1st there us very little conection between flu and diarrhea specially bloody diarrhoea(dysentery) but yes there is connection between the body aches you have and makformed painful stool you have which progressed to bloody diarrhea.

The symptoms you mentioned : Body aches,muscle pains, abdominal pains cramps,lethargy,painful bowel movements leading to BLOOD with MUCOUS is typical sign of amoebic dysentary ...


GOOD NEWS: It's very much treatable with an Amoebicid like metronidazole and a spasmolytic drug which would relieve your abdominal cramps and you will be all fine,up and running in a couple of days.

If i were your physician i would have Metronedazol 400mg thrice daily for five days. For Body aches Tylenol over the counter can be used.

-Should you rush to ER? Yes!!if you cant get your hands on metronedazole over the counter..!!
