Suggest Remedy For Intense Itchy Scalp, Palm And Soles Of Feet
I have had a very itchy scalp for a few months. There is no rash, bumps, or dandruff. I have used the same shampoo for years and have never had a problem with it. When the itching wouldn t go away, I started using Neutrogena T-Gel medicated shampoo, but it didn t help. For the past couple of weeks, the palms of my hands and soles of my feet have also been itching terribly. I tried using Cortaid, but that didn t help either. The itching comes and goes several times throughout the day, but when it happens it is very intense.
Hi. AAs per your case history you may be having itching due to inflammation of sebaceous and sweat glands called as hidradenitis. My treatment advice is - 1. Avoid food which is spicy and excessive salty. 2. Avoid scalp oil for at least 3 weeks. 3. Use a ketoconazole shampoo like Danket on alternate days. 4. Take antihistamines like levocetrizine twice daily.
If problem persists then you need further investigation done after consulting a dermatologist.
Thanks. Dr.harshit bhachech. MBBS, DDVL.
