Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Dear Sir/Madam
I have gone through your query and read your symptoms.
In my opinion, its clear from what you say that your knee had a blood collection following injury, but this blood collection is a sign of internal damage, and what you need now is to get yourself an MRI of the knee joint and see it internally and find out the cause of hematoma.
I hope that answers your query. If you want any more clarification, contact me back.
I find this answer helpful
