My son is 28 years old. He was diagnosed with some problems with some Thyroid issues a couple of years ago. Currently he is having trouble sleeping, he is very emotional and has very little appetite. He made the mistake of smoking that synthetic marijuana years ago. Please help me find answers.

Hello
Welcome here.
Thyroid problems can cause mood disturbances and sleep troubles.

Marijuana usually does not cause permanent long term effects on body.

I think you should take a psychiatric opinion for your son.

Trouble sleeping and disturbed appetite can be a symptom of depression which may be secondary to thyroid issues.

If thyroid is controlled, sedative antidepressants like paroxetine or trazodone (prescription drug) will help to improve sleep, mood and appetite.

Hope this helps.
Thanks.
