Good morning!
I have worked with hundreds of people with adult type 2 diabetes. There are two situations that come to mind quite quickly that can cause your problems and to verify it you will need to check your blood sugar when you are having the dizzy spells and compare to blood sugar after symptoms pass and you are feelin well again. Dizziness in diabetes is frequent when there is a fast fluctuation in blood sugar similar to being on a roller coaster ride. The blood sugar need not even be out of range, but it is the rapid slide/change in the sugar causing the problems. Neurological damage from the diabetic process may cause "orthostatic hypotension" which would occur more when rising from a sitting position. Regarding B12, the lifespan of a red blood cell is 3 monts, you will not feel any results overnight. Why are you B12 deficient? If you don't find out why you will continue to have the problem and measuring B12 will go on the rest of your life because if you keep injecting B12 and end up with too much it can cause permanent neurological damage and the same is true if you don't have enough. Priority with this problem is to find out why you are low and fix it. The next thing to check is your blood pressure, but since you didn't mention it, I am assuming it is not a problem? I hope I have answered your query. Kathy Shattler, MS,RDN
