Suggest Remedy For Numbness & Discomfort In Wrist

I have had a broken wrist for a month now and the area continues to swell to as much as it did the day it was broken.Should I be concerned? It is very unconfortable and also makes my hand numb and difficult to bend fingers as well as making the cast very tight.
