Suggest Remedy For Numbness In Head & Neck Followed By Seizure

My name is Stephanie and I recently went to the doctor to get an MRI of my brain due to pain and numbness in my head and neck, recurring ischemic attacks, and fluctuations in blood pressure. According to my doctor my MRI yesterday showed several small mini strokes in the brain which has had me concerned. This morning around 3 am I started to have a small seizure and sudden pain and numbness in my neck, spinal cord, and under each one of my armpits. I immediately took 2 aspirin and it lasted around 5 minutes and I felt better. Throughout today I have been aching all over, not necessarily having any pain but I am very sore and it seems to be in my chest area too. Any thoughts as to what this could be. Any information would be extremely appreciated. Thank you.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

The symptoms you describe do not really correspond to any particular area in their distribution. They do not seem to be related to the MRI changes you describe or to any new ones. I think they are much more likely due to anxiety which can mimic any neurological symptom. The distress from the MRI report may have contributed to that. The fact aspirin alleviated that in 5 minutes reinforces that as that time is not enough for Aspirin to come into effect, it must be the psychological effect taking place.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
